Learn the Essentials of AutoCAD for the Theatre
AutoCAD for the Theatre is a full-colour book organized around a practical project: the technical drawings for the set of a play entitled A Matter of Murder and Peerage in the Scottish Manor. The aim of the book is to teach AutoCAD by applying the software to this project, rather than simply having a reference book full of descriptions of individual AutoCAD commands.
You will be introduced to 2D drafting and then guided through producing three fundamental theatre drawings: a ground plan, extended elevations, and a centre line section. Once these drawings are complete, you will convert them to 3D to create a model and renderings.
Though the book is structured to guide you through the progressive development of theatre drawings, an index of commands also allows you to look up detailed information and steps on how to use specific AutoCAD commands.
